Magdalena Barbaruk: has researched the cultural agency of literature as well as its impact on the way of life of individuals and communities and on space. Author of the books Długi cień Don Kichota / The Long Shadow of Don Quixote (2015), Sensy błądzenia. La Mancha i jej peryferie (2018) and the monograph Ruch Amereidy (2024), nominated for the Marcin Król Award. Her dissertation on feminist reinterpretation of ‘Solidarity’ received an award in a nationwide competition for a master’s thesis on the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union ‘Solidarity’ (AMU, 2005). Magdalena Barbaruk is the Director of the Institute of Cultural Studies of the University of Wrocław and an editor of the Konteksty. Polska Sztuka Ludowa journal.
